The Dogwood Cottage Yurt and Cabin glamping offers secluded glamping in the heart of the Sussex countryside, close to Rye, Battle and Hastings and open all year round! We are situated in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, deep in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. It affords glampers and caravaneers, from all over the world, a rare chance to relax in lovely surroundings and a base from which to explore the area’s fine beaches, ancient woodlands and rich, historic diversity.
Reached down a leafy lane lined with Oak trees, the yurt is a 20 foot diameter, felt-lined Ornate Turkmen built from Ash trees sourced from the Glyndebourne Forest and is of a strikingly beautiful construct. It has a 6 foot roof wheel which is great for lighting during the day and on clear nights gives fine views of the stars. it is also possible to partially open up the roof. There are barn owls, badgers and rabbits for company and the surroundings are usually alive with birdsong, with an amazing morning and dusk chorus. Externally the yurt is surrounded by decking and is separated from the campsite in its own private space including a fire pit and picnic table. There is parking very close by. The Cabin is tucked away amongst ash and willow trees and overlooking a bamboo-lined pond.
THE YURT
Internally the yurt is decorated in an eclectic but chiefly Tibetan style. The yurt is ideal for two but certainly has the space, if not the actual beds, to accommodate more. It is easily adaptable to small family occupation. The Yurt is equipped with…
DOGWOOD CABIN
If you’re looking for the chance to get away from it all and breathe in the beauty of nature, look no further than the new Dogwood Cabin. Tucked away amongst ash and willow trees and overlooking a bamboo-lined pond, the Dogwood Cabin is a haven of peace and tranquility. The cosy, heated pine cabin is decorated in an Eastern-style and has a futon double bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. This fully-insulated retreat has all the modern comforts glampers have come to expect – silent mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a compost loo – but with one unique difference. Nestled in the heart of the High Weald, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the cabin affords glampers the chance to experience a real back-to-nature visit. From the comfort of your cabin, you can just slide open the patio doors and let the birdsong fill the cabin as you watch our resident chickens or visiting ducks waddle past. There is even a suntrap meditation deck for those who enjoy quiet, reflective time. In the mornings you can order breakfast brought straight to your door. And at nights, after a meal at the pub, you can warm yourself with your own fire pit and toast marshmallows while looking out for shooting stars in our noted dark skies.
Suitable for 1 or 2 adults + 1 baby/ small child the Cabin is heated, carpeted and sits in a secluded corner of the Dogwood Estate and is equipped with…

CATERING
Apart from the electric kettle, fridge and wood stove, there are currently no catering facilities available at the yurt or the cabin. We do have a small shop on site for basic supplies like our organic ‘Dogwood’ hen eggs, local farm dairy milk and Phil’s famous sourdough loaves. At £5 per person we can provide a simple breakfast and there are tea and coffee making facilities available in both. There is plenty of space outside for cooking for those who have their own cooking equipment. A firebowl is provided for both clamping sites for outside cooking. Most importantly however, a 10 minute walk from the yurt is the Red Lion ‘gastro’ pub which does great lunches and dinners (and wonderful beer!). There other restaurant/ pub choices, including the Rainbow Trout, a short driving distance away, which does really lovely pub grub, while various restaurants in Rye will also deliver as far as Brede. Depending upon availability, organic vegetables available for purchase from our vegetable garden.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your yurt. It was our first time staying in a yurt and it was loads of fun. It was the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of London. The setting was ideal, being very quiet and peaceful. We’re going to miss seeing all the stars every evening. Hope to see you again very soon. Dom, Debbie and Luke
Thank you! We had a great time – first time ‘glamping’ for a birthday surprise and what a lovely treat. All the little touches (breakfast, fridge, firepit) very thoughtful. Recommend walking to the Red Lion pub too. Sarah, Steve & kids
Mum and I had a lovely time. On the first day we went to Camber Sands beach and then had a cream tea in Rye. We also ate at the Red Lion pub in the evening. The next day we went to the beach and explored Rye some more. I recommend the sweet shop. At night time we toasted marshmallows and kebabs over the fire while watching the stars. We felt very well looked after. The beds were amazing and the yurt was really comfortable. Thank you and we’ll see you again. Louisa and Clare
