Glamping at Midgham Farm in Hampshire and the New Forest with Featherdown Farms and their new Log Cabins available all year round. The farm has been in the family since 1790. Where Midgham planted 11,000 trees, it’s den building country, the Chiddock Pony Stud’s home. Just 10 minutes’ walk away, a long stretch of River Avon is reserved for guests paddling or booking a coarse fishing lesson until 15 March, fly fishing 15 April to 30 Sept. The New Forest is evocative of woodland adventures through the ages. Heading back in time, Stonehenge is just 22 miles away. Go Ape at Moors Valley Country Park is nearer still: 9 miles. On the farm, discover the farm tour, happening in winter too!
Perfect relaxation is a tent entirely within beautiful woodland, with recently removed trees allowing lots of light too. Hammocks can be found between trees in the vicinity of the log cabins, or for the energetic, a cross-country woodland running course and cargo nets to climb on. Children will love the rope swings and climbing ropes, plus Midgham’s giant sand pit with large digging area and sit-on diggers. Newest is archery and axe throwing available just across the wood. Or come and help out with the ponies in the stables.
There are ponies, goat pen play area, pigs, piglets, rabbits, lambs and deer stalking with camera when Oliver is around. And the small, pretty woodland streams are an irresistible invitation for a paddle or leisurely game of Pooh sticks on your Hampshire glamping farm holiday, children accompanied. After fishing, tell about the one that got away at many a cosy country pub. Frogham’s Foresters has donkeys in the carpark! The log cabins have a campfire between for get-togethers too. Stock up at the honesty shop, which is open all winter also.
Dogs are welcome from the 1st February to 31st July, on a lead at all times while around the farmyard and campsite. Off the farm, a 10-minute drive away, Somerley House offers varied fairs, shows, festivals and activities.
IN THE LOG CABIN you will find
