Accommodation
Sleeps up to 4 adults and 1 child
Langley Dam Glamping Pods in Northumberland is nestled in the Tyne Valley, on our beef and sheep farm, at the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We provide high quality, en-suite accommodation in our unique glamping cabin pods.
The four ‘Langley Longboat’ pod cabins are positioned on the bank of Langley Dam Reservoir, providing exceptional views over the 14 acres of water and towards Whitfield moor. Langley Dam itself is a commercial fly fishery and Troutmaster water. Visitors are welcome, and encouraged, to enjoy the fishing experience that the water provides (charges do apply, but residents have discounted fishing fees). We also have rowing boats that can be hired for fishing purposes.
Langley Dam Glamping has gained an Glamping Accreditation award for the whole site and a prestigious Glamping GOLD level award for all of our cabins when ‘Fully Furnished. We also received the ‘Best Newcomer’ award from Campsites.co.uk in 2018.
Our glamping pods are designed to resemble upturned fishing boats reminiscent of the old clinker boats that coastal communities have used to store tools and nets, most notably on Northumberland’s own Lindisfarne Island (but with all your home comforts). We have created a beautiful all season living space and each cabin is named after fields and fell-land on our farm including Blackcleugh, Wheatley’s, Humbleton, The Wonneys, Bare Bones and The Rushy Lot.

All the cabins can sleep up to four guests. Blackcleugh, Wheatleys and Bare Bones also have a child’s drop down bunk that is suitable for a child up to the age of 12. The Wonneys and Bare Bones remain pet-free at all times for allergy sufferers. In all the Cabins you will find a drop leaf table with folding chairs for dining. The cabin is heated by means of an electric heater. We have also installed a 28” smart TV with DVD player. Free Wifi is provided over the whole site.

OUTSIDE YOUR CABIN
Outside the stable-style doorway, there is private decking leading onto a gravelled area where each cabin has a firepit and outdoor seating area. Wood and charcoal for the firepit are available on site and fire-packs containing wood, kindling and firelighters can also be purchased (or pre-ordered so they are ready for you on arrival at your cabin). All fuel burnt on our firepits must be purchased on site. The firepits have a BBQ grill and cooking tripod attachment and we request that these are used for BBQ purposes – no private BBQs are to be brought onto the site.
In your firepit area there is a BBQ locker. In here is all the equipment that you may require for BBQing – including our cooking tripod and bowl, grill lifters, fire gauntlet, tongs, ash bucket and trowel, sand (the firepit works best if a layer of sand is in the bottom), and BBQ cooking equipment. This locker is also used for log storage, and any pre-ordered packs are left in here for guests.
A foldaway table and chairs for outdoor dining are provided.
In all cabins we provide bird spotting and stargazing guides as well as a OS explorer maps of the area so you can make the most of the wildlife, stars and walking in the area. We also provide torches and binoculars for use by guests.
We also have secure storage for bicycles on site (bring your own locks and using this facility is at your own risk). One of our eco commitments is that if you plan to arrive on a bike or on foot we will offer you the fully ‘Furnished’ cabin at the ‘Cabin only’ rate!
CHILDRENS PLAY AREA
Our children’s play area is suitable for children between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It has been designed and built by Langley Furniture Works and follows our nautical theme – the play area includes a cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat and raised boat platform for fantastic imaginative pirate play. The play area is situated nearest to the Wheatley’s cabin so this may be the best choice if you have small children in your party (or not if you don’t?!).
BREAKFAST PACKS, BURGERS
Breakfast packs are available for guests – these must be pre-ordered and are ready in your cabin on arrival. Our vegetarian or lighter breakfast option includes a grapefruit, cereal (cornflakes or porridge), bread, butter, marmalade, milk, tea, freshly ground coffee and sugar. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding food allergies before you book a breakfast pack.’
‘We also sell our own Belted Galloway burgers when available – they are in packs of 4 and are fantastic cooked on the BBQ. These can either be pre-ordered at the time of booking, or just ask when you are staying with us and we can deliver them to your cabin. We also sometimes have steak (sirloin, rump and occasionally fillet) available – so it’s always worth asking if you fancy some exceptional home-reared, grass fed beef for your supper!
