Glamping Wales

Orchid Meadows is a nature retreat near Tregaron, Ceredigion, West Wales. With glamping in a yurt, glampavan and quirky cottage, each accommodation sleeps two people, giving an opportunity for a relaxing and rejuvenating retreat with the emphasis on appreciating nature, campfires and lanterns, good food and rustic cooking.

We welcome adult couples and offer a quiet, relaxing space, so are not suitable for group bookings or parties. And we have free-roaming hens (Katy, Jackie and Sara) and very free-roaming cats (Bobby, Rosalyn and Sandy), so we unfortunately cannot take dogs, however lovely and well-behaved they are.

RED KITE YURT
Red Kite Yurt is a bright and spacious traditional Mongolian-style yurt sited in Home Meadow with magnificent king size sleigh bed and log-burner and state of the art wood-fired cooking facilities appealing to all those who like to get back to nature.

You will find included….

• King size sleigh bed with full bedding and linen
• Wood-burner inside (with smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector)
• Soft and comfy sofa
• Full pans, crockery, glasses, cutlery and implements, including antique dinner service by renowned designer Susie Cooper of Burslem
• Additional coolbox for your own use with daily supply of ice blocks
• Drinking water dispenser
• Inside seating area with coffee table
• Lanterns, candles and matches
• Outdoor rustic armchairs
• Covered outdoor cooking area with seating and storage
• State of the art wood-fired outdoor cooker comprising pizza or roasting oven and hob
• Additional Kadai firepit for barbecuing or toasting marshmallows
• Small Campingaz stove for that early morning cup of tea
• Complimentary box of logs, kindling and fire-lighters (more available at a nominal cost)

GOLDFINCH CAMPERVAN
Goldfinch Glampavan was originally a touring caravan made in the 1990s. Now it has been lovingly repositioned in our orchard area and given a quirky twist to become a glampavan. It is furnished and decorated in the bright, beautiful colours of this pretty garden bird.

You will find included…..

• Small double bed inside, plus somewhere to relax in the candlelight during the evening

We have a fine array of Welsh Local produce available at reasonable prices, plus a help-yourself basket of fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit (according to season and availability). And through our Bakery and Day menu we can offer a choice of home-prepared meals, snacks and cakes at reasonable prices. Breakfast can be covered too with a Breakfast basket.

LOCAL AREA
Orchid Meadows is a 25-acre small-holding with fascinating wild plants and animals. We have three meadows, wild gardens and a pond that turns blue with damselflies in summer. We have graceful towering beech trees that rustle in the breeze, wetland that is home to uncommon plant species and the acid grassland characteristic of West Wales known as rhos pasture. You will discover a host of wild flowers, insects and other wildlife including broad-leaved helleborine, devil’s bit scabious and marsh cinquefoil, four different types of dragonfly, lizards, frogs and toads, plus in the sky above, jays, buzzards, red kites, a barn owl and a loyal cuckoo.
