At Royal Oak Farm in Devon we offer luxurious stays in our unique, off-grid stargazing cabins. Located in the Blackdown Hills above Honiton, Royal Oak Farm is a peaceful, secluded oasis; a place to unwind, relax and detox from everyday life as well as explore Devon, Dorset and the stunning Jurassic Coastline.

The Blackdown Hills is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are close to the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, with its beautiful landscape and incredible geology. There is a selection of stunning beaches, perfect for relaxing, finding fossils and going on impressive walks. We are in easy reach of pubs and restaurants and Stockland village pub is just down the road. It takes 10 minutes to get to Honiton and Ottery St Mary is 15 minutes away. Exeter is only a 30 minutes drive away.

OUR STARGAZING CABINS
Orion and Ursa our two uniquely designed and hand built cabins off the perfect getaway for couples, nestled in a 5 acre field at Royal Oak Farm in the Blackdown Hills. Each cabin has a kitchenette with hot running water, a cool box, and a gas hob. The sumptuous king sized bed beneath a vast skylight window (fitted with blackout blinds) makes the most of every opportunity to catch sight of a shooting star. The large en-suite shower room is fitted with a walk-in shower and vanity unit with a sink. A compost loo is accessed through a doorway from the shower room. A wood burning stove will keep you toasty in the colder months and on chilly nights. The living-eating space has a comfortable seating along with a table and chairs for two positioned to take in the view from the French windows which open out on to a spacious private deck. On the deck you’ll find a dining area and down on the grass, a seating and a fire pit/bbq where you can cook, relax and to watch the stars or take in the view. The deck also boasts a refurbished roll top bath with hot running water so that you can enjoy a luxurious soak beneath the stars.
