The Gables

Situated in the peaceful village of Escomb 

The Gables is a small but perfectly formed Pod Camping site and fully licensed Wedding Venue perfect for that quiet serene break or intimate Wedding ceremony.

Situated in the peaceful village of Escomb, just 30 minutes drive from the city of Durham, our ethos is to provide a relaxing retreat setting for guests to unwind and switch off from the hussle and bustle of daily life.

We have 3 luxury camping Pods available, as well as the Clocktower cabin and Pear Tree Cottage, all accommodating a maximum of 2 adults.

Each Pod and the Clocktower cabin have their own eco-friendly wood-fired hot tub, a perfect antidote to the stresses of daily life.

Optional Extras

An Afternoon Tea Experience can be booked in advance and is served in our beautiful Tipi (2 hour experience)

Stone-baked pizzas are individually prepared and cooked in our wood fired pizza oven and are available to pre-order at booking or in advance along with other tasty food (These can be added as an additional item when making your booking) Pizzas available Fridays & Saturdays only and cost £14.50 each.

We are a licensed premise and have a horse box bar onsite that can be opened for our guests.

We also now have our lovely serenity area with a pond and a bridge over to the new serenity room where you can relax, dine and listen to the waterfall in the pond.
